The 2011 Dodge Caliber hatchback comes with a standard 2.0L 4-cylinder engine that makes 158 horsepower. It's connected to either a 5-speed manual gearbox or an optional continuously-variable transmission. The other engine available is a 2.4L 4-cylinder that makes 172 horsepower, which comes standard on the Rush and optional on the Uptown. Standard safety equipment for 2011 includes seat-mounted side air bags, first- and second-row side-curtain air bags, anti-lock brakes, brake assist and traction control, driver and front-passenger active head restraints and tire pressure monitoring. The base Express comes well equipped, with an MP3/CD stereo, one year of satellite radio, power windows and door locks, keyless entry and cruise control. The Mainstreet adds a standard CVT transmission, touring suspension, 17-inch aluminum wheels, fog lamps, a power-adjustable driver's seat and stability control. The Heat includes sport suspension, 18-inch alloys and a sporty body kit. The Rush includes the 2.4L 4-cylinder engine and either a 5-speed manual or CVT. 18-inch chrome wheels are standard as are a rear spoiler, a touch-screen equipped media center stereo with 30GB hard drive, Boston Acoustics speakers, heated front seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and automatic climate control. The top-of-the-line Uptown offers the 2.0L engine, upgradeable to a 2.4L. The Rush also gets a touring suspension, chrome grille, fog lamps, upgraded speakers, heated seats, power driver seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and automatic climate control.Notable options include blue or red seat inserts and a power sunroof. The Media Center 430 with a 30GB hard drive and touch screen. The Rush offers optional leather seats.
Late in 2010, the Caliber's lineup got some new trims: Express, Mainstreet, Heat, Rush and Uptown. These continue on into 2011. The 2.0L 4-cylinder continues to be standard on the Express, Mainstreet, Heat and Uptown. A 2.4L comes on the Rush and is available on the Uptown. Blackberry Pearl paint is no longer available, and Mango Tango and Redline are new. UConnect Web is no longer available on the Caliber.
